Dr. Gilbert is originally from Sylvania, AL.  This is a small town just north of Fort Payne in the northeast corner of our state.  She attended Auburn University where she obtained a Bachelor's degree in Animal Science in 1995, then she obtained her DVM in 1998.  Dr. Gilbert's medical interests include surgery, cardiology, and oncology.  She enjoys horseback riding, and is currently working on jumping and dressage.  She and her husband, Don, have a virtual zoo at home with their 2 cats (1 indoors and one in the barn), 2 dogs--Pete Dog the boxer and Penny the coonhound, and 2 quarterhorses.  She is pictured on Daybright--he is her competition horse.
